My name is Emily. I have been stitching since I was about three years old – over 25 years now! I mainly do embroidery, dressmaking and quilting. My main stitching passion is embroidery. I don’t want this art form to die out with our generation, I want the next generations to continue the tradition of creating heirlooms and keeping embroidery alive.
I recently decided to begin building on this dream by beginning to write a specialised embroidery book (can you guess the style/technique I have chosen?), and designing patterns and kits to help introduce embroidery to newcomers, and help established embroiderers to spread their wings.
I work full time as an administrator for a specialist surgeon and I am married with a baby daughter. My “day job” boss loves fashion and clothing and I often make clothes for both of us. I am very much looking forward to showing my daughter my love of embroidery and other forms of stitching as she grows.
